As a Finishing & Assembly Tech you will perform repetitive tasks such as bench assembly and part finishing such as cleaning, deburring, grinding, and other production operations to produce machined metal parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Bench assembly:
    • Places parts in specified relationship to each other.
    • Uses hand tools to assemble small parts.
  • Part Finishing:
    • Scrapes or rubs parts with file, wire brush, or buffing cloth.
    • Holds part against buffing or grinding wheel.
    • Deburrs or polishes parts.
    • Cleans interior surfaces of holes.
    • Applies abrasive compound, wax, or other dressing to facilitate cleaning or polishing operation.
  • Will be crossed trained to work at different workstations in production as needed.
  • Frequently will use a microscope and a variety of hand tools to assemble and finish the machines parts.
  • Follows safety procedures accordingly.

Education and/or Experience

  • Equivalent to high school education or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior manufacturing experience.
