We are seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven Food Production Manager to oversee and manage the daily operations of the food manufacturing facility. The Food Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily food manufacturing operations, ensuring production schedules are met, quality and safety standards are maintained, and production targets are achieved. The role manages production staff, coordinates with other departments and drives continuous improvement in food processing, packaging and equipment maintenance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of food regulations, and certifications as a Preventative Controls Qualified individual (PCQI) to manage and improve both quality controls processes and food safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities-Essential Job Function
- Plan, organize and control production to ensure efficient and timely output
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities and production teams
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations with FDA
- Perform regular inspections of raw and in-process material, as well as finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications
- Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed
- Maintain quality control standards and address non-conformance issues promptly
- Train, evaluate, and develop production staff to ensure high performance
- Analyze production data and prepare performance reports
- Ensure all food safety plans and preventative controls are implemented and maintained
- Ensure all health and safety policies are followed to ensure product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance at every stage of food production
- Assist the Quality Manager in ensuring the facility remains compliant with all required certifications and prepares for any third-party inspections or audits
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance and operations to drive improvements in both quality and safety
- Assist with internal and external training programs for staff on food safety and quality assurance
- Stay current on industry regulations and trends, recommending changes or upgrades to quality and food safety programs as needed
Essential Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in food science, engineering, safety management, or related field is preferred
- PCQI Certification (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) is required
- 3 + years in a leadership role in food production environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (FSMA, HACCP, GMP, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across teams and engage with the production team and senior leadership
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience with production planning and inventory management
- Proficiency in Dynamics 365-Business Central software and Microsoft Office Suite (this would be desired not required)

FT Salaried Position
Annual Salary Range - $125,000-$175,000
