Pritchett Eye Care, LLC the owner or Johns Creek Eyecare in Johns Creek is growing and has acquired Family Eye Clinic at Towne Lake in Woodstock, GA. We are looking for a Front Desk Associate with ophthalmic experience to perform front desk activities. As a Front Desk Associate, you will be one of the main points of contact for our practice. Our front desk duties include making appointments, greeting the patient, creating a patient record, creating, and recording fee slips, taking payments from patients, accurately recording patient and insurance responsibility, and some insurance filing. You will be expected to be able to perform other patient/administrative support across the organization. You will welcome patients and greet people who visit the practice. You will coordinate front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls. You should be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position. Ultimately, Front Desk Associate duties and responsibilities are to ensure the patient has a pleasant and professional ophthalmic encounter, patient services and products are recorded accurately, money is collected from the patient, recall for next appointment and applicable insurance is billed. The front desk welcomes guests positively and executes all administrative tasks to the highest quality standards
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the office
- Direct visitors to the appropriate person and area of office
- Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
- Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures)
- Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
- Enter pertinent data to the patient record
- Confidently perform patient work-up and explain the procedure
- Accurately enter information into to the patient record
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access and adhering to the patient schedule
- Order front office supplies and keep inventory of stock
- Schedule patient encounters
- Recall patient for return visits
- Create and record fees slips (accurately break-out patient and insurance responsibility
- Perform other clerical receptionist duties as needed
Skills
- Proven work experience as a front desk associate/Ophthalmic Tech in an eye care / medical practice, Ophthalmic technician, Optician, Front Office Representative or similar role
- Proficiency with RevolutionEHR (preferred) or other eye care EHR/EMR
- Hands-on experience in an ophthalmic office
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Customer service attitude
- High school degree; additional certification in Front Desk Management is a plus
