Responsibilities
- Greet customers as they arrive and provide an excellent customer experience
- Maintain computerized scheduling and follow office scheduling policies
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments
- Answer and screen telephone calls, take messages, and provide appropriate information to phone callers
- Assist clients with paperwork, including consent forms
- Filing and retrieving patient medical records.
- Assist with verification of patient insurance benefits and eligibility prior to the appointment
- Confirm appointment and send appointment reminders
- Faxing and filing
- Maintain a clean and presentable front office and reception area.
- Maintain accurate patient information by updating patient demographics and insurance information in the electronic health records system.
- Taking payments and posting payments.
- High School Diploma (GED)
- Certified Medical Assistant, plus
- Ability to pass a background check
- At least 1 year of medical office/clerical experience
- Proficiency with computers, typing and basic software use.
- Positive attitude and ability to use good judgment and seek appropriate resources in difficult or stressful situations
- Professional behavior and appearance
- Pays attention to detail and is quality focused
- Two or more years of experience as a receptionist or similar role is preferred
- Excellent communication skills with a commitment to customer service
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Excellent multi-tasking skills
