Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to serve as a technical advisor on transportation projects for our New York Metro Transportation group in the Bloomfield, NJ office location.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, final working drawings and Geotechnical reports under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Collect and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Perform Geotechnical investigation collecting and describing soil/rock samples in the field.
- Create soil profiles based on data collected during the subsurface investigation program.
- Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems including but not limited to foundation, retaining wall and support of excavation design, slope stability and seepage analysis, etc.
- Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
- Valid US Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering
- EIT
