Description:
The GIS Analyst works under moderate supervision to support Valero GIS activities primarily related to the Logistics department including map creation, database maintenance, spatial analysis and regulatory reporting.
- Supports internal stakeholders through creation of maps, exhibits, graphs, and other deliverables using ArcGIS Pro.
- Maintains and updates pipeline GIS data with as-built information provided by Survey, Operations, and Engineering groups.
- Reviews documents and drawings to verify asset attributes and other information.
- Supports enterprise GIS data management through efficient data entry and centerline edits.
- Supports preparation and filing of accurate and timely regulatory reports to various state and federal agencies.
- Supports and maintains content published to the ESRI Enterprise Portal.
- Supports internal ESRI product suite users on functionality of internally built Portal content.
- Executes tasks and projects in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assists in writing GIS standards and protocol documents.
- Performs other relevant duties as assigned by management.
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications:
- Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.
- Bachelor’s or higher level degree - or technical training in Geography, GIS, Information Technology, or other relevant degree, required.
- 2+ years of experience in the following area: GIS experience, required.
- 2 years pipeline company GIS experience, preferred.
- Experience in Autodesk CAD software, preferred.
- Experience in managing PODS databases through ESRI APR and/or other pipeline specific GIS software applications, preferred.
- Survey experience, preferred.
- Experience in Python, Arcade, and/or SQL, preferred.
