Job Summary: The GIS Specialist is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and managing geographic data to support various projects. The GIS Specialist will work independently on custom maps and applications, perform quality control on GIS datasets, assist with GIS training, and perform geospatial data analysis, and coordinate activities of the department with the goals and directives of an individual project. You will report to the GIS Supervisor.
Full Time| Monday - Friday | 8 am - 4:30 pm
$28 -$32 per hour based on experience.
THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION- 100% ON-SITE.
Primary Tasks:
1. You will perform data analysis, produce maps and detailed reports, provide technical guidance on all geographic information systems projects, and perform other related duties as required.
2. You will convert LiDAR building scans into complex building models.
3. You will work with ArcGIS Pro daily; understanding of advanced cartographic principles and the ability to create professional maps, tables, and charts.
4. You will efficiently and quickly use all available geospatial tools and datasets to find solutions to challenging problems.
5. You will troubleshoot and identify data quality issues within the GIS System.
6. You will present findings and maps to stakeholders.
7. You are required to stay up to date on the latest GIS technologies, trends, and best practices.
8. All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Geography, GIS, or related field PLUS
- 1 year AutoCAD, Revit, and / or 3D Max experience.
- 2 years GIS experience using ESRI ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro OR;
- 5 years of directly related experience and knowledge in required programs
- Proficiency in Adobe software suite.
