As we scale globally with Teknor Apex, we seek a dynamic Global Vice President, Commercial to lead our sales, strategic marketing, and technical service organizations and drive profitable, sustainable growth.
The Global Vice President, Commercial will shape and execute a global commercial strategy aligned with Danimer’s purpose, sustainability leadership, and innovation roadmap. This cross-functional executive role will directly impact company performance by building customer value, enabling marketing-driven growth, and ensuring that our technical expertise unlocks market adoption. Key Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership (Global Accounts & New Business Development)
- Own global revenue, volume, and gross margin targets across key segments (e.g., packaging, agriculture, consumer goods).
- Lead and coach the global sales team to develop strategic accounts and penetrate new markets.
- Establish and maintain executive relationships with the top 20 customers and partners globally.
- Drive disciplined pipeline management and forecasting through CRM and integrated S&OP processes.
Strategic Marketing Leadership
- Develop and execute a market segmentation and targeting strategy aligned to company goals and sustainability positioning.
- Oversee TAM/SAM/SOM analysis, customer lifetime value modeling, competitive tracking, and innovation opportunity mapping.
- Guide brand development, content strategy, digital marketing, and ESG-focused messaging to strengthen global presence.
- Collaborate with R&D and product teams to guide portfolio strategy, product-market fit, and value proposition development.
Technical Service & Application Development
- Lead a global technical service team to provide application development, performance validation, and customer training.
- Translate complex technical information into commercial outcomes to accelerate adoption of PHA materials.
- Ensure technical resources are prioritized to support key account growth, new product trials, and qualification success.
Cross-Functional & Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a core member of the Danimer Leadership Team, helping shape enterprise strategy, culture, and performance.
- Partner with R&D, Operations, and Sustainability to deliver coordinated market entry strategies and value-chain alignment.
- Contribute to long-range planning, innovation portfolio prioritization, and regional regulatory influence.
Team Leadership
- Build and lead an integrated commercial organization across sales, marketing, and technical service.
- Foster a performance-driven, customer-centric, and purpose-led culture.
- Develop internal talent pipeline and succession planning across all three commercial functions.
Required Experience & Capabilities
- 10+ years leading global B2B sales, including strategic account management, pricing strategy, and enterprise deals. Proven track record of exceeding revenue and margin targets.
- 5+ years leading marketing or business development functions. Skilled in TAM/SAM/SOM mapping, VOC programs, value proposition development, digital marketing, and GTM execution.
- Experience managing application engineers or customer technical teams. Able to translate material science into commercial value and ensure successful trials, onboarding, and scaling.
- Background in bioplastics, sustainable materials, chemicals, or packaging with knowledge of regulatory, ESG, and LCA frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams in matrixed, multicultural environments. Skilled in talent development, coaching, and change leadership.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business, or related technical field (required)
- MBA or advanced business/technical degree (preferred)
Travel
- Up to 40% global travel required
