Summary:
The Grocery Lead plays a key role in overseeing daily operations within the grocery department, ensuring efficient stocking, merchandising, inventory control, and customer service. This role supports the store leadership team in driving sales, maintaining standards, and helping train and supervise grocery team members. The Grocery Lead is responsible for helping the store maintain a clean, organized, and customer-friendly environment in line with the Grocery Outlet Bargain Market mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Merchandising & Stocking
- Oversee stocking, facing, and rotating of grocery products.
- Ensure accurate and appealing displays based on Grocery Outlet standards.
- Manage back stock and ensure product is replenished in a timely manner.
- Monitor expiration dates, pricing accuracy, and product freshness.
Team Leadership
- Provide direction and training to grocery clerks and stockers.
- Delegate tasks to ensure productivity and coverage during shifts.
- Lead by example in maintaining strong work ethic and customer service.
Inventory Management
- Assist in receiving deliveries and verifying product accuracy.
- Conduct inventory counts and report discrepancies to management.
- Help track shrinkage and suggest improvements to minimize loss.
Customer Service
- Provide exceptional service and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Answer customer questions regarding products and store layout.
- Foster a welcoming environment for all shoppers.
Store Operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in grocery aisles, backroom, and cooler areas.
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and food handling standards.
- Assist in opening and closing procedures as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ year of grocery or retail experience preferred.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
