Hoozels at The Lakes is a fun, casual bar & grill known for our award-winning Bloody Marys, crave-worthy homemade pizzas, and friendly, upbeat atmosphere. Whether locals or visitors, our guests come for the food and stay for the vibe — and we’re looking for a Kitchen Manager to help us keep it that way.
Position Summary:
We’re on the hunt for a strong, hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead our back-of-house team. This role requires a balance of leadership, cooking skills, and organizational know-how. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, committed to quality, and thrives in a team-first, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all kitchen operations, including scheduling, prep, cooking, cleaning, and inventory
- Train and support kitchen staff across all stations (pizza, grill, fry, and plating)
- Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and quality standards are consistently met
- Manage food costs, reduce waste, and help maintain BOH budget goals
- Maintain a positive, professional kitchen culture through leadership by example
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of BOH team members
- Work as a cook during peak hours and as needed (this is not a “desk” job!)
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of kitchen experience required; supervisory or management experience strongly preferred
- Proven ability to lead a team in a high-volume, fast-paced setting
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards and BOH best practices
- Dependable, flexible, and solutions-focused
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
