Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly in sushi preparation, and will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail, creativity, and a commitment to food safety and hygiene practices. Responsibilities
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, ensuring high quality and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and sushi preparation areas.
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Assist in menu planning and development of new sushi items.
- Manage inventory of sushi ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality.
- Train kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques as needed.
- Engage with customers to provide information about sushi offerings and dietary options.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques.
- Proficiency with kitchen tools, including knives, for precise meal preparation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Creativity in developing new sushi recipes and presentations is a plus.
- A passion for Japanese cuisine and dedication to providing exceptional dining experiences.
