Summary/Objective:
The housekeeper is responsible for implementing community housekeeping procedures for maintaining clean, odor-free and presentable apartments of each resident living at The Voyage Senior Living facilities.

· Perform all housekeeping and cleaning procedures in accordance with community policies so that all residents’ apartments are kept clean, odor-free and presentable at all times
· Cleaning and maintaining the apartments must be done in a timely and efficient manner
· Follow material safety data sheets (MSDS) in observing waste disposal procedures and safe use of all cleaning products
· Use proper care and use of equipment and supplies in accordance with corporate policies and procedures
· Observe all community policies and procedures, including but not limited to, safety, infection control, residents’ rights and those contained in the employee handbook
· Foster self-respect and feeling of worth in each resident by consistent kindness, understanding and patience, while following all HIPAA laws by maintaining the confidentiality of all protected health information whether electronically, written or oral that is exposed during the course of assigned duties or as a result of an incidental disclosure
· Consistently work cooperatively with residents, staff, volunteers and families to ensure residents are receiving the best quality care

Physical Demands and Expectations:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
· The employee is regularly required to talk, hear and have the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
· The position requires frequent walking and standing, occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, stretching/reaching and climbing stairs. Requires occasional lifting and carrying up to 15 pounds.
· Must have dependable transportation, a valid Illinois Driver’s License and State required liability insurance on a personal vehicle
· May be required to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and/or shift changes to ensure that residents’ needs are met
· Must be willing to attend in-service training, seminars and other activities as assigned
· Appropriate documentation indicating absence of infectious/communicable diseases, e.g. TB and Hepatitis may be required
· Position is subject to a criminal background check
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
Previous years of experience in a similar position preferred
