Iowa Energy Fund Company Overview
The Iowa Energy Fund is a nonprofit organization founded in 2023 to help fund building efficiency, renewable energy, and zero-emissions technology projects across Iowa. The Iowa Energy Fund has $10 million of lending capital from the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund through the Coalition for Green Capital to deploy in Iowa.
Summary
The Iowa Energy Fund (IEF) is seeking a part-time (.5 full-time equivalent) Executive Director to lead the strategic direction and manage the operations. The Executive Director position is a contract position that is remote with travel up to 15% of the time.
Executive Director duties include overseeing and managing the organization’s operations on a day-to-day basis. This is a remote position, but it there will be the expectation for in person meetings in order to fulfill the duties of the position.
Responsibilities
- Planning and implementing operational strategies
- Implementing policies and procedures
- Monitoring and improving performance
- Managing staff and contractors, including making recommendations on hiring staff or contractors to the executive committee
- Achieving the organization’s objectives
More specifically, the roles of the Iowa Energy Fund executive director include:
- Managing and working with the Program Manager to develop the loan pipeline.
- Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including managing the work of the compliance services provider and accountant.
- Managing the finances of the organization, including coordinating with the accountant.
- Managing existing relationship with the Coalition for Green Capital.
- Fostering new relationships with additional National Community Investment Fund (NCIF) and Clean Communities Investment Accelerator (CCIA) award recipients as those dollars become available.
- Fostering relationships with Iowa’s financial institutions as well as other Iowa stakeholders.
- Fostering relationship with foundations and other potential funders to provide supplementary financial support.
- Responsible for relationship with Iowa Energy Fund Board of Directors and nonprofit Board Governance.
Experience
- Proven experience in nonprofit management or a similar leadership role.
- Strong budgeting and financial management skills.
- Excellent relationship management abilities with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in program development and management within a nonprofit context.
- Supervisory experience with a focus on team building and staff development.
