Position Summary:
As an Ironworker at Mountain West Industrial, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing structural steel and iron components for a variety of industrial projects. You must have a strong understanding of blueprints, rigging, welding, and safe work practices in heavy industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project drawings.
- Fabricate, install, and weld structural steel and iron components such as beams, columns, and supports.
- Erect and align steel structures using cranes, rigging equipment, and hand tools.
- Bolt or weld structures into place according to project specifications.
- Cut, drill, and shape steel components using power tools and torch cutting equipment.
- Follow all company and site-specific safety policies, including proper use of PPE and fall protection systems.
- Inspect and maintain tools and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an ironworker in an industrial or construction setting.
- Ability to read and interpret structural blueprints and shop drawings.
- Experience with rigging, crane signaling, and welding.
- Physical ability to climb, lift, carry, and work at heights for extended periods.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and site-specific safety procedures.
- Willingness to travel to job sites as required.
- Reliable transportation and valid ID.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified welder (AWS or equivalent).
- Experience in industrial environments such as power plants, refineries, or mining operations.
- MSHA certification.
