Requirements:
Must feel comfortable in placing IV's and giving IV fluids and or additional medication under the supervision of a physician.
Be willing to travel to patient homes when needed for home IV therapy.
Must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work weekends as needed.
This is a per diem job and hours can vary widely, from 0 to 10 hours. If a full time position becomes available there would be an opportunity to come on full time.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse who is interested in starting or continuing a career in IV therapy to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients receiving infusion therapies, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the treatment process. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Responsibilities
- Administer intravenous (IV) medications and fluids as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during infusion therapy and respond appropriately.
- Conduct thorough assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and medical documentation.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medication administration, and self-care strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment progress in compliance with ICD-10 coding standards.
- Provide support for family planning initiatives as needed.
- Work effectively with individuals with disabilities, ensuring inclusive care practices.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Experience in travel nursing is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to infusion therapy.
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation processes and medical documentation standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
