Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle/High School Pod Instructor to lead
engaging, personalized educational experiences. The role focuses on coaching/guiding a small group of middle and high school learners through daily lessons, project-based learning assignments, and entrepreneurship-driven STEAM education.
This position involves working closely with learners daily during the hours of 8 AM to 1 PM on Monday-Thursday and 8am - 3 PM on Fridays. Additional responsibilities include developing and delivering STEAM-based lessons, guiding projects, and supporting neurodivergent and gifted learners.
Curriculum and Instruction
● Lead Thursday lab days for middle and high school pods, focusing on hands-on STEAM
and nature-based projects in addition to teaching lessons other days during the week,
field trips etc
● Develop innovative lesson plans using platforms like Kidvation, Rock by Rock, Let’s
Go Learn, and Zearn, in alignment with provided curriculum overviews and scope.
● Facilitate project-based, entrepreneurship-focused learning experiences outside of high
school learners’ online coursework.
Daily Coaching and Guidance
● Guide and assist high school learners in managing and excelling in their online classes.
● Foster a collaborative and engaging learning environment for middle school learners.
Field Trips and Enrichment
● Plan and lead educational field trips that enrich STEAM and project-based learning.
● Develop activities that align with Burbrella’s mission and values, supporting experiential
education.
Holistic Student Support
● Support and adapt learning for neurodivergent, gifted, and diverse learners, ensuring
every child’s needs are met.
● Foster social-emotional development and encourage a positive classroom culture.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEAM-related fields, or a related area (Master’s
preferred).
● Experience teaching or working with upper elementary, middle and high school learners.
● Familiarity with project-based, nature-based, and entrepreneurship-focused education
(preferred).
● Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with learners
and families.
● Dedication to putting students’ needs at the forefront of education.
