The Kitchen Assistant is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef with the preparation, cooking and presentation of all food prepared in order to satisfy and exceed the expectations of Simply Plated Customers.
The Kitchen Assistant is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef with the preparation, cooking and presentation of all food prepared in order to satisfy and exceed the expectations of Simply Plated Customers. In this role, you will be responsible for upholding the highest standards in terms of food quality for all menu items prepared. The Kitchen Assistant has the responsibility of making sure all kitchen and storage areas, equipment and supplies are clean, tidy and well maintained at all times and will have knowledge of Health, Safety and Food Hygiene rules and regulations in order to work in a manner that complies with them at all times. This position is part time with occasional evening and weekend shifts.
****We are currently looking for candidates with flexible availability Monday-Friday from 8am-6pm and occasional Saturdays and Sunday availability.****
Role & Responsibilities:
The Kitchen Assistant is responsible for helping the Executive Chef and
Executive Sous Chef in the operation of the Simply Plated’s Catering and School Food Service contracts
Perform basic food preparation tasks such as prepping ingredients (slicing, peeling and cutting), sauces, salads and sandwiches based on Simply Plated recipes.
Properly clean and store ingredients upon their delivery to the kitchen, prior to production, in accordance with proper food safety standards
Assist Executive Chef with the preparation, packaging and labeling of catering, meal delivery and retail products order prior to delivery
Adhere to kitchen opening and closing procedures in order to ensure proper cleanliness prior to food production and after.
Wash utensils and dishes and store all equipment appropriately
Operate various kitchen tools and equipment properly and in a safe manner
Assist with drop-off catering deliveries as needed, which includes the successful delivery and setup of catering orders to Simply Plated standards
Assist with offsite catering setups as needed
Other duties as assigned
