Learning and Development Manager
Reports to: EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer
Objectives of this Role
The Learning and Development (L&D) Manager is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive learning strategy that strengthens employee capabilities, enhances engagement, and supports the organization’s culture of continuous development. This role designs and oversees impactful programs that span onboarding, upskilling, performance alignment, leadership development, and employee engagement—while also directly leading a small L&D team (1–2 direct reports).
The ideal candidate is a proactive, collaborative learning leader who brings strong business acumen, experience in customer-centric development, and the ability to scale learning initiatives through technology, innovation, and measurable outcomes.
Essential Functions
1. Strategy, Leadership & Team Management
- Develop and execute a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned with business goals, workforce needs, and cultural priorities.
- Lead and develop a high-performing L&D team, providing direction, support, and accountability.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on development priorities, learning innovation, and organizational capability.
- Stay current on learning trends and technologies to ensure best-in-class practices and future-ready programs.
- Design and deliver scalable, high-impact learning programs across onboarding, technical training, soft skills, customer centricity, leadership, and compliance.
- Facilitate engaging learning experiences using in-person, virtual, and digital modalities based on adult learning principles.
- Build structured career pathways, development plans, mentoring programs, and internal certification models to promote retention and mobility.
- Manage vendor relationships and learning solution providers to support high-quality and cost-effective delivery.
- Align learning and performance management by supporting goal setting, feedback, coaching, and development planning.
- Support managers and employees with resources and tools for growth, feedback, and career advancement.
- Lead initiatives that connect learning and engagement to key cultural themes such as inclusion, collaboration, innovation, and customer centricity.
- Drive engagement through development-focused events, recognition programs, and cultural initiatives.
- Integrate AI and digital learning technologies into program design, delivery, and personalization.
- Support digital transformation efforts by identifying skill gaps and leading tech upskilling initiatives.
- Promote agile learning solutions, just-in-time content, and digital fluency across the organization.
- Conduct training needs assessments and organizational capability analysis in partnership with stakeholders.
- Define learning success metrics and track program performance using data and stakeholder feedback.
- Deliver reports and dashboards to communicate impact, ROI, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Build business cases for L&D investment and ensure programs are aligned to measurable business outcomes.

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5–7+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Talent Management, or Organizational Development.
- 2+ years leading or supervising a team in a learning or HR-related function.
- Proven success designing and implementing enterprise-wide learning strategies and development frameworks.
- Experience embedding customer-centricity into learning programs and organizational culture (strongly preferred).
- Strong understanding of performance management practices, goal cascading, and development planning.
- Demonstrated experience with mentoring, coaching, career pathing, and internal mobility programs.
- Proficiency in AI-enabled learning platforms, LMS systems, and digital content creation tools.
- Ability to manage external vendors and learning partners effectively.
- Experience supporting change management and organizational transformation through L&D.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to measure and communicate the impact of learning initiatives.
