Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various areas of law, including estate planning, environmental law, and litigation. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and proficiency in legal research and document management systems. The Legal Assistant will provide essential support to attorneys and contribute to the efficient operation of our law office.
Duties
- Assist attorneys with case preparation, including legal research and document review.
- Manage legal case files using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw.
- Draft legal documents, contracts, and correspondence with attention to detail.
- Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather necessary information for cases.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are filed accurately and timely.
- Perform data entry and clerical tasks to support the administrative needs of the office.
- Utilize legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw for case law analysis.
- Coordinate project management tasks related to ongoing cases or legal matters.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, attorneys, and court personnel via phone etiquette.
- Proofread documents for accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a law office or as a paralegal is preferred.
- Familiarity with various areas of law including family law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, patent law, securities law, workers' compensation law, tribal law & regulations, personal injury law, UCC law, and environmental law is advantageous.
- Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in using document management systems and legal software (iManage, PCLaw).
- Experience in litigation support including filing motions and managing court deadlines.
- Ability to conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
- Strong attention to detail with proofreading capabilities.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
