Legal Assistant wanted for Law Firm in Downtown Staunton. Successful candidate will have strong communication skills, be highly motivated, and self-starting with a professional attitude.
Duties include:
- Keeping cases organized by establishing and organizing files; maintaining and monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into file database and case management software; confirming case status with attorney.
- Maintaining contact with persons involved in the case; scheduling depositions; preparing and forwarding summonses and subpoenas; assist in drafting documents; preparing and filing discovery requests; preparing responses to opposing counsel.
- Keeping clients informed by maintaining contact; communicating case progress.
Skills and Qualifications:
Legal Administration Skills, Client Relationships, Organization, Planning, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Dependability, Communication Skills, Microsoft Office (required), language and writing skills including ability to proofread
