Light Industrial Transfer Specialist
We are looking for a Light Industrial Transfer Specialist, someone who has a crucial role in the efficient and safe movement of materials, reagents, and equipment within the facility. This position supports laboratory operations and production processes by ensuring timely and accurate transfer of items, while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate light industrial equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, or forklifts to transport materials within the facility.
- Accurately transfer items to designated areas, including laboratories, storage facilities, and production lines.
- Assist with the receipt, inspection, and organization of incoming materials and equipment.
- Prepare materials and reagents for transfer by labeling, packaging, and documenting according to established procedures.
- Ensure the safety of transfers by following established protocols, securing loads, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory personnel and production teams to coordinate transfers and address any issues or concerns.
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation, such as transfer logs, inventory records, and safety checklists.
- Identify and report any damaged or non-conforming materials or equipment.
- Assist in maintaining inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of the operations team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a light industrial setting, preferably with material handling or transfer responsibilities.
- Proficiency in operating light industrial equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, or forklifts, if applicable.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
- Physical ability to lift and carry materials, potentially up to 50 pounds.
Physical requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds frequently.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Close visual acuity for inspecting materials and reading labels.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including potentially noisy or temperature-controlled environments.
