Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various areas of law, including personal Injury, employment law, and civil litigation. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to conduct thorough research, and proficiency in data entry. As a Paralegal, you will assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings while ensuring that all documentation is accurate and well-organized.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and contracts.
- Conduct legal research using tools such as Westlaw to gather relevant case law and statutes.
- Transcribe legal documents and maintain accurate records of case files.
- Organize and manage case files, ensuring all documents are filed correctly and accessible.
- Support attorneys during litigation by preparing exhibits and summarizing depositions.
- Perform clerical duties such as data entry, scheduling appointments, and managing correspondence.
- Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
Experience
- Previous experience in personal Injury, employment and civil litigation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in data entry with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Excellent research skills with the ability to analyze complex legal information effectively.
- Familiarity with litigation processes and procedures is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal are essential for client interaction and collaboration within the team.
