Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician supports operation, inspection, and light maintenance processes to mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities. This is an entry-level position and can provide opportunities for growth in the engineering field.
HIRING MANAGER
Example: You will work as part of an engineering team of 3 at a 320,000 square foot Class A office building in downtown, NW, Washington, DC.
Schedule: 3rd shift - M-F 9:30 am – 6:00 pm with rotating on-call schedule as requested.

Responsibilities
- Assist the engineering team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment
- Perform general maintenance including carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and/or painting
- Complete assigned work orders in CMMS and maintains appropriate service documentation
- Maintain tools, parts, equipment and supplies in clean and safe conditions
- Work closely under the direction of Operating Engineer, Chief Engineer and others
- Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
- Support on-call or emergency response situations
- Other projects and tasks to be assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of related work experience, especially in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry
- Trade school, union training, military service or college is desirable
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall
- Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneeling, lift and/or drive
- Strong customer service skills
