WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for administering and supporting all NHL related applications and technologies at NHL games and events. The Manager, Arena Technical Operations, will work closely with various business units throughout the organization and work from the various NHL arena venues in conjunction with building operations, technical staff of each facility, and NHL member clubs.
This person must be detail-oriented and predisposed to work in a fast-paced environment. As the key point of contact for the NHL Technical Operations department, both internally and externally, they will play a pivotal role in the success of the Arena Technology Operations group as it works to proactively deploy league/venue wide solutions to support NHL game and event requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all NHL owned equipment and infrastructure within NHL venues
- Manage a crew of approximately 10 part-time staff per venue
- Work daily from assigned NHL venues
- Prepare and support broadcast applications and technology systems for all NHL games and events
- Proactive system monitoring and troubleshooting while simultaneously coordinating resolutions with other departments where applicable
- Provide level 2/3 technical support for all NHL systems in assigned arenas including, but not limited to, NHL scoring system, clock & timing systems, video replay systems, referee microphones, RF monitoring systems, NHL intercom & VOIP systems, NHL WAN & LAN, media displays, press conferences, broadcast operations for video ingest & distribution, camera systems, and team iPads
- Oversee vendor and partner provided systems for all games including setup and maintenance of related equipment
- In conjunction with IT department staff, develop technical and operational training plans and complete/maintain league & event documentation across all NHL systems within an NHL game or event venue
- Provide technical support for NHL Events
- Position requires 100% travel (both within North America and internationally)
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
- Minimum 5 years work experience in professional audio & video services
- Previous work experience in professional sports or entertainment companies or venues, working on major sporting event(s) in a technical capacity
- Strong subject matter expert in planning, project management, leadership, and organization
- Experience with technical deployments as a part of large-scale technology projects
- Experience managing and troubleshooting wireless technologies, streaming video, electrical, RF, communication systems, IP & data networking, camera systems, and video signal distribution
Preferred
- Experience using Slack
- Experience with ServiceNow
- Familiarity with Visio and/or AutoCAD
Education/Certifications
- College degree or technical certifications in computer engineering, broadcast operations, video or electrical engineering or related fields
Required Skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills
- Very strong attention to detail and project focus are required
- Ability to work under pressure, within extremely tight deadlines and maintain a good sense of humor, tact, and professionalism

SALARY RANGE:
$100-115K
Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
