Description
At The Loving Company, we believe exceptional service starts with well-maintained equipment. Our fleet keeps our people and projects in motion, and we are seeking an experienced Mechanic who takes pride in delivering quality, reliability, and precision. This role is ideal for someone who brings deep technical skill, embraces evolving tools and technology, and thrives in an environment where their work has a direct impact on operational excellence.
This is more than a maintenance role. It is a career opportunity for a professional who understands the connection between mechanical performance and customer success.
What Success Looks Like
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance and multi-point inspections on trucks, trailers, and small engines to ensure all equipment remains in peak working condition and compliant with safety standards.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and hands-on expertise to identify root causes and implement timely, effective repairs.
- Utilize fleet management platforms such as Whiparound, Wex GPS, and System Main to track equipment performance, update maintenance logs, and manage repair workflows efficiently.
- Input detailed service records and parts usage into mobile applications, ensuring real-time communication with supervisors and accurate documentation across departments.
- Maintain a clean, well-organized, and hazard-free shop environment that reflects professional standards and supports safe, efficient work processes.
- Oversee and replenish inventory of critical parts, tools, and consumables to avoid delays and support continuous equipment availability.
- Provide responsive roadside support by diagnosing and repairing equipment failures on active job sites, or coordinating safe transport when field service is not feasible.
- Partner with project managers and crew leaders to align equipment maintenance schedules with operational needs, minimizing service interruptions and job delays.
- Monitor long-term trends in equipment wear and usage to proactively recommend updates to service intervals, replacement planning, or usage protocols.
- Participate in ongoing safety programs, toolbox talks, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with internal standards and promote a strong safety culture across teams.
- Support operational readiness by assisting with special projects, equipment staging, and seasonal or high-volume logistics initiatives.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned that support company-wide initiatives, business continuity, and the core values of The Loving Company.
