We are seeking an Optometric Assistant for a busy Optometrist office providing patients with comprehensive eye health exams. We will train on all requirements. Our priority is ensuring that our patients have the very best eye care experience. Candidate must have an upbeat, positive personality, be articulate, maintain excellent customer service, have multi-tasking skills and be very reliable. The Optometric Assistant is responsible for providing quality patient care while performing necessary pre-screening exams/testing.
Preferred Duties of Optometric Assistant (Training will be provided as required):
- Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance of doctor’s office and pretest room.
- Patient intake
- Patient scheduling
- Proper medical history taking
- Perform preliminary screening tests (Training will be provided)
- Maintain proper documentation
- Conduct Autorefractions, Lensometry, Visual field, Retinal imaging (Training will be provided)
- Instruct patients on the insertion, removal, cleaning, and care of contact lenses (Training will be provided)
- Pulling and filing charts
- Confirm appointments with scheduled patients
Qualifications:
- Bilingual a plus
- Basic office equipment and computer skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Previous medical/optical experience preferred but not required
- Demonstrated interest in quality service to patients/customers
- Flexibility to work some Saturdays
- Strong customer service skills
- Able to give instruction in a clear and concise manner to patients
- Excellent organizational skills

- Multitasking and time-management skills
- Professional attitude and appearance
