Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Medical Office Assistant to manage essential front-office functions in a high-quality, patient-centered environment. In this role, you’ll oversee patient check-in/check-out, schedule appointments, verify insurance, manage incoming calls, track billing and payments, and maintain medical records. You’ll also handle inquiries from prospective patients, ensuring timely and compassionate follow-up. This position offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on patient care while working closely with a dedicated team.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients during check-in and check-out, providing a welcoming and positive experience.
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with clinicians to optimize clinic workflow.
- Conduct insurance verification, ensuring accuracy and assisting patients with any questions.
- Answer incoming phone calls, addressing patient inquiries or directing them to appropriate team members.
- Track billing and payments, maintaining clear and accurate records.
- Organize and manage medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Respond to and follow up on inquiries from prospective patients, maintaining a high level of responsiveness and care.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive Pay: $62,500/year base salary, plus performance-based bonus eligibility. Pleasant and supportive work environment. Benefits eligible including PTO, health insurance, paid holidays, and 401k.
Qualifications
- 2 years of administrative experience in a medical office or healthcare setting..
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive work ethic.
- Proficiency in basic office software (Microsoft Office, scheduling software) and comfort with learning new systems.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a calm and professional approach with patients.
