Medical Receptionist – Job Description
Location: Daisy Family Health Care, Avondale, AZ
Reports To: Clinic Manager
Job Type: Part-Time
Position Summary:
The Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and plays a vital role in creating a warm, organized, and professional atmosphere at Daisy Family Health Care. This role involves managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, handling patient communications, verifying insurance, and supporting the clinical team with administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk & Patient Coordination
- Greet patients warmly, check them in and out, and provide excellent customer service.
- Answer phone calls, return voicemails, and respond to patient inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, follow-up visits, procedures, and telehealth visits.
- Provide reminders for upcoming appointments, labs, or referrals.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain updated patient records in the EMR system (e.g., Tebra).
- Ensure all consent forms, identification, and intake forms are completed before visits.
- Scan, file, and route faxes or documents to appropriate providers.
- Collect payments, issue receipts, and reconcile daily transactions.
- Insurance & Memberships
- Verify insurance coverage or explain membership services and pricing to patients.
- Help patients sign up for monthly membership plans, handle cancellations or changes.
- Support patient understanding of services such as IV infusions, functional testing, and wellness programs.
Team Support
- Communicate patient messages, refill requests, or abnormal results to clinical staff.
- Coordinate referrals, medical records, or labs as requested.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front office and waiting area.
- Support clinic events, open houses, and patient education efforts as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting (preferred)
- Knowledge of EMR systems (Tebra)
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus!

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
