Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. You will work closely with patients, assisting them in their daily activities and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. Your contributions will be vital in promoting recovery and enhancing the overall well-being of our clients.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
- Monitor patient behavior and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and engage patients in art therapy to promote self-expression and healing.
- Provide support in administering medications as directed by healthcare professionals, with an understanding of psychopharmacology principles.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with facility policies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that address gender issues counseling and other specific needs of patients.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for all patients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Experience
- Previous experience in a mental health setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with art therapy techniques is a plus, as well as knowledge of psychopharmacology principles.
- Experience or coursework related to gender issues counseling is highly desirable.
