The Cleveland, TN, facility is searching for current students in the Machining field to employ in an intern capacity. The selected student will be given challenging projects to execute, which will benefit the Cleveland site, as well as provide valuable manufacturing experience for the student.
POSITION SUMMARY:
In this internship program, you will gain experience and be exposed to the dynamics of a highly successful manufacturing business. We are looking for a driven intern, interested in learning about the manufacturing industry, to train and participate in different areas of manufacturing and production. The intern hired for this position should expect to learn multiple facets of manufacturing and will leave this position with valuable skills and industry knowledge.
This position is intended for students currently working on a degree in the Machinist field.
- Plans, organizes, and controls project schedules to meet deadlines
- Maintains safe working conditions, safe work practices and good housekeeping in area of responsibility
- Improves methods and processes to improve productivity, reduce costs and improve quality
- Trains, develops, to achieve maximum efficiency
- Understands all applicable company and site policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance in area of responsibility
- Understands bottlenecks that limit production and take necessary corrective action
- Ensures proper equipment and tools for workforce to complete tasks
- Ability to interact and communicate with Site Leadership and Technicians daily
- Work in cross-functional teams and can prioritize workload to maximize productivity
- Support continuous improvement initiatives including streamlining processes, documenting workflow and work instructions and creating process checklists
- Develop manufacturing standards within the site
- Attaining a degree in the field of study
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint
- Initiative and competence to anticipate and respond to issues along with the ability to identify and implement changes as needed
- Excellent communication skills, personal accountability, and a sense of urgency

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. Must be able to walk long distances, climb stairs, and wear the required PPE in all areas of the site. Must be able to lift 40-lbs with proper lifting technique while on the job, as required.
