Job Summary:

Duties:

• Assist the head coach with organizing and supervising practices and games
• Instruct players in the fundamentals of football, including offense, defense, and special teams
• Promote good sportsmanship, respect, and academic achievement
• Support team conditioning, training, and injury prevention strategies
• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all student-athletes
• Help manage equipment, uniforms, and logistics as needed
• Attend coaches’ meetings, training sessions, and school functions as required
• Ensure adherence to school, district, and league policies and procedures
• Any and all other duties as assigned

Requirements: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required and candidate must pass a fingerprint background check as a condition of employment.

• Prior coaching or playing experience in football (preferably at the youth or middle school level)
• Knowledge of football rules, strategies, and safety protocols
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and administrators
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  
  

Salary and Benefits: The salary for this position is 5% of base teacher salary ($2,462.50 per season), as well as enrollment in a PERA retirement plan and unemployment insurance. Candidates who have previously coached football for Weld Re-9 are eligible for $150 per year as an experience factor. Coaching at other districts or schools does not count towards the experience factor.
