Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in sports coaching, teaching, and working with children. This role involves guiding students in various physical activities, promoting teamwork, and fostering a positive environment for skill development. The Coach will be responsible for creating engaging training sessions that enhance students' athletic abilities while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction and support to students of all skill levels, ensuring that each individual receives personalized attention.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
- Promote teamwork and sportsmanship among participants during practices and competitions.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Manage behavior effectively in a group setting to maintain a positive learning environment.
- The season starts September 8th and ends by late October or early November.
- Practice is Monday-Thursday from 3:00-4:00.
- There are 8 total competitive matches.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in sports coaching or teaching physical education is preferred.
- Lifeguard experience is a plus for roles involving swimming instruction.
- Strong background in one or more sports such as basketball, cheerleading, karate, judo, or climbing.
- Experience working with children or youth in a childcare or educational setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to effectively handle diverse student needs.
- A passion for promoting physical fitness and healthy lifestyles among youth.
