Nursing Director – Behavioral Health

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nursing Director – Behavioral Health to lead our multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This role supports senior hospital leadership in managing behavioral health services, ensuring safe and effective operations, and upholding clinical excellence standards.
The ideal candidate brings both strong leadership and hands-on clinical expertise in psychiatric/behavioral health settings, with a focus on optimizing staff performance, patient outcomes, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 24/7 operational leadership for behavioral health units.
- Assist with planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practices across departments.
- Ensure safe, high-quality, and evidence-based patient care delivery.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to drive performance goals.
- Promote staff development and ensure regulatory and compliance adherence.
- Serve as a role model and advocate for the nursing profession.
Required Qualifications:
- License: Active RN license in Massachusetts (or eligible).
- Education:
- Required: Associate Degree in Nursing & Bachelor’s in a health-related field or BSN.
- Preferred: MSN or Master’s in a healthcare-related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of behavioral health/psychiatric nursing experience.
- Minimum 2 years in a hospital leadership role (manager, charge nurse, or higher).
- Certifications: BLS/CPR certification (must be current).
