Nutrition Assistant Full Time Rotating Position Summary
Assists Dietitians in Food Service. Provides direct and indirect patient care as determined/delegated by a Registered Dietitian (RD). The care provided is commonly routine, i.e., delivering and picking up patient menus, assisting patients with menu selections and editing menus according to the diet prescription. Processes diet changes from nursing services and maintains census record. Checks accuracy of patient trays. Modifies menus based on patients food patterns, tolerances, and preferences.
THE NUTRITION ASSISTANT FULL TIME ROTATING CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school graduate or GED equivalent
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Nutrition courses
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Six months in dietary in a Healthcare setting
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: An unexpired Maricopa County Food Handler Care; or a valid card or certificate issued by an ANSI-accredited food handler training program; or a valid food handler card or certificate issued by another county within Arizona.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Ability to read in English to follow oral and/or written instructions. Ability to prioritize work. Must have good customer service skills. Bilingual preferred.
