Job Overview:
We are are small, boutique, single physician Ophthalmology practice seeking a skilled and organized Medical Receptionist to join our awesome team. We are looking for someone who would like part time work. The hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and administrative support in a healthcare setting. This is a vital role as you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors.
Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient information, including insurance coverage and personal details
- Collect patient co-pays and process payments
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate department or staff member
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow
Skills:
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with front desk operations in a medical or dental office setting
- Experience with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
