Patient Access Specialist (part-time)

Purpose:

OGA is seeking a Part-time Patient Access Specialist (PAS) who will work 3 days per week. This position will take place from. This position is set to take place primarily at our Meridian clinic location, but will also include shifts at the Nampa clinic. Typically, it will involve 1 day a week on phones (taking calls from patients), and 2 days a week at the check-in desk.

Positions Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides excellent customer service and communicate skills, over the phone and other communication methods to all patients
• Schedule’s patient appointments and coordinates other needed services for patients.
• General office administration tasks such as scanning, filing, documenting, etc.
• Performs the following workflows: patient registration, complex scheduling, and benefit verification with attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Supports a perspective payment program by communicating organization policies, financial options, explaining insurance coverage/non-coverage.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Minimum one year of experience in a medical office/clinic setting is preferred, but not required
• General phone and computer skills, as well as effective customer service skills and communication
• Ability to adapt to change and be flexible to change in-the-moment
