We are seeking a dedicated and organized Patient Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Gastroenterology practice. This position requires exceptional clerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage patient interactions efficiently. As a Patient Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing them with a welcoming experience while managing their appointments and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record systems such as Epic, Cerner or eClinicalWorks.
- Handle front desk operations, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and managing correspondence.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care effectively.
- Assist in managing insurance verification processes and ensure proper billing procedures are followed.
- Maintain a clean and organized front office environment to enhance patient experience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a clerical or front desk role within a hospital or dental office setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Attention to detail is essential for accurate documentation review and appointment scheduling.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding is a plus but not mandatory.
