Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, customer-focused Pawn Broker to join our small team. This position involves assisting customers with pawn, purchase, and sale transactions; evaluating merchandise; and providing excellent service in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, trustworthy, and thrives on building positive relationships with customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, professional service
- Evaluate items such as jewelry, firearms, tools, electronics, and collectibles for authenticity, quality, and value
- Explain loan terms, purchase offers, and sales prices clearly to customers
- Accurately complete pawn, purchase, and sales transactions in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, including firearm handling protocols
- Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and visually appealing sales floor
- Assist with inventory management, tagging, pricing, and merchandising
- Handle cash, credit, and loan transactions with accuracy and integrity
- Support team goals by helping with store upkeep, displays, and special promotions
Qualifications
- Previous retail, sales, or pawn experience preferred, but we will train the right person
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to evaluate merchandise and learn product knowledge quickly
- Must be dependable, honest, and able to handle confidential information
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be at least 21 years old and able to pass a background check
- Firearms experience a plus (training provided if needed)
Work Schedule
- Full-time position, Monday–Friday 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- At minimum 2 working Saturdays per month
- Occasional flexibility may be required
