The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead and oversee payroll operations across multiple facilities. This is a key leadership role, responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll function — including weekly processing, system administration, payroll taxes, compliance, audits, and team leadership. What You’ll Do

• Lead the payroll team and oversee all payroll processes, from data entry through tax compliance.

• Maintain payroll systems, ensuring alignment with HR, benefits, and accounting.

• Develop payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Ensure compliance with state and federal wage/hour laws and tax regulations.

• Oversee direct deposits, garnishments, special checks (overtime, bonuses, terminations), and W-2 year-end reporting.

• Manage payroll audits, reporting, and inquiries.

• Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.

• Develop payroll performance metrics and track departmental costs.

• Provide training, performance management, and recognition for payroll staff.

• Partner with leadership to meet annual payroll goals and projects.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.

• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience.

• Experience with ADP HRIS and SmartLinx.

• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll and tax compliance.

• Advanced skills in spreadsheets and databases.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.

• Prior healthcare or senior living experience.
