The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead and oversee payroll operations across multiple facilities. This is a key leadership role, responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll function — including weekly processing, system administration, payroll taxes, compliance, audits, and team leadership. What You'll Do
Lead the payroll team and oversee all payroll processes, from data entry through tax compliance.
Maintain payroll systems, ensuring alignment with HR, benefits, and accounting.
Develop payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Ensure compliance with state and federal wage/hour laws and tax regulations.
Oversee direct deposits, garnishments, special checks (overtime, bonuses, terminations), and W-2 year-end reporting.
Manage payroll audits, reporting, and inquiries.
Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.
Develop payroll performance metrics and track departmental costs.
Provide training, performance management, and recognition for payroll staff.
Partner with leadership to meet annual payroll goals and projects.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
7+ years of progressive payroll experience.
Experience with ADP HRIS and SmartLinx.
Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll and tax compliance.
Advanced skills in spreadsheets and databases.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
Prior healthcare or senior living experience.
