Peer Outreach Liaison – NCI-IDD

About the Role
Vital Research is seeking individuals with lived experience of intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) to join our team as temporary Peer Outreach Liaisons. In this role, you will use your experience and voice to encourage individuals and families to participate in the National Core Indicators – Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (NCI-IDD) surveys, taking place from October 21 through approximately April 2026. Your outreach and support will help ensure that people with IDD and their families are represented in research that informs services and policies nationwide.

Key Responsibilities
- Respond to voicemails from individuals and families, returning calls based on their needs.
- Encourage individuals with IDD and their guardians/families to participate in surveys.
- Make proactive outreach calls to uncontacted individuals to encourage survey participation and schedule interviews.
- Escalate questions you cannot answer to the Research Coordinator (RC).
- Provide feedback to the project team on outreach strategies and participant experiences.
- Schedule interviews for a set block of hours each week on behalf of interviewers.
- Accurately enter outreach notes and scheduling details into Salesforce (training provided).
Qualifications
- Lived experience of intellectual or developmental disabilities (personally or as a caregiver).
- Interest in supporting peers and families to share their voices and experiences.
- Ability to engage with individuals and families by phone in a friendly, respectful, and supportive manner, demonstrating adaptability and encouragement.
- Ability to work independently, manage time, and follow up on calls.
- Basic computer skills (training on Salesforce and project systems will be provided).
- Reliability and professionalism in representing the project.
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
- Previous experience in outreach, peer support, or advocacy.
- Experience using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar platforms.

Compensation
- $22-24 per hour DOE
- 5-10 hours per week, depending on project needs
