Where You Will Work
- You will work in the office located in Jupiter, FL, and report to job sites as necessary.
When You Will Work
- Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
What You Will Do
As a Plumbing Estimator, you will be responsible for estimating and managing plumbing and gas jobs across residential, commercial, and large-scale construction projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Focus on estimating small plumbing and gas service jobs, as well as small to large renovations.
- Assist with large ground-up construction estimating.
- Reach out to customers to gather scope details and provide estimates based on leads from the estimating supervisor.
- Perform pre-bid site visits and scope change site visits to incorporate field conditions into the estimates.
- Develop detailed scopes of work and create cost estimates covering labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment in Excel.
- Write formal proposals with detailed scopes, exclusions, pricing, and job timelines.
- Collaborate with the estimating supervisor to review bids before submission.
- Provide project turnover information, including material take-offs and project documentation, to the operations team after a project award.
- Consult with clients, vendors, and team members to resolve issues and provide further cost estimates.
What Is Required
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as an Estimator in the plumbing trade or a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field with 5 years of experience in the plumbing trade.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, including plumbing, mechanical, and architectural layouts.
- A willingness to learn computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Bluebeam or similar software.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and clients.
- Must be at least 25 years of age and hold a valid Florida Driver’s License, with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Understand plumbing code and systems.
- Proficient in modern office practices.
- Willingness to learn estimating software, and Microsoft Office with Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to accurately determine project scope and cost.
- Ability to protect the company from financial loss due to errors or omissions.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
