Overview
The Police Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining public safety and enforcing laws within the community. Officers will engage in various activities to prevent crime, respond to emergencies, and provide assistance to those in need.
Duties
- Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity, ensuring community safety.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents, providing assistance as necessary.
- Conduct thorough investigations of crimes, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, arrests, and investigations for legal documentation.
- Enforce traffic laws, issuing citations when necessary to promote road safety.
- Engage with the community through outreach programs, fostering positive relationships.
- Handle animals in distress or involved in incidents, ensuring their safety and welfare.
- Utilize surveillance techniques to monitor suspicious activities and gather intelligence.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies as needed for investigations and operations.
- Demonstrate leadership skills by guiding junior officers and participating in training initiatives.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- MUST BE OPOTA CERTIFIED (No exceptions)
- Valid law enforcement certificate or equivalent training from an accredited institution.
- Proficiency in report writing to document incidents accurately.
- Strong driving skills with a valid driver's license.
- Experience or knowledge in loss prevention techniques.
- Familiarity with criminal investigation processes and procedures.
- Ability to handle animals safely and effectively during various situations.
- Proven leadership capabilities within a team environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of law enforcement principles and practices.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred.
- Experience with surveillance systems is advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.70 - $33.72 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
