Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pre-Litigation Attorney to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has strong negotiation skills, technical savvy, a client-focused mindset, and the ability to manage multiple cases from intake through settlement. You will be responsible for developing case strategy, managing client communications, and ensuring each matter is positioned for the best possible resolution—without the need for trial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate new cases, conduct thorough investigations, and develop legal strategies.
- Draft and review demand letters, settlement proposals, and legal correspondence.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters and opposing counsel.
- Maintain consistent and professional communication with clients regarding case status and next steps.
- Work closely with support staff to ensure accurate file documentation and timely follow-up.
- Monitor deadlines, statutes of limitations, and other critical dates.
- Prepare cases for possible litigation if settlement cannot be reached.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Illinois.
- 1–3+ years of personal injury or related pre-litigation experience preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven record of settlements.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining quality.
- Tech-savvy with experience in case management software.
