Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our esteemed educational team as our Lead Preschool Teacher. This position will involve working with students in our three-year-old preschool program. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of early childhood education principles and demonstrate a steadfast commitment to cultivating a nurturing and intellectually stimulating environment for young children. This role entails designing engaging and developmentally appropriate lesson plans which coincide with our curriculums, effectively managing classroom dynamics, and promoting the holistic well-being and development of each child under our care.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that promote literacy, physical education, and early intervention strategies.
- Apply Montessori principles to cultivate independent learning and exploration among preschoolers.
- Provide attentive support for the children’s feeding and hygiene needs, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Effectively manage classroom behavior, maintaining a positive, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
- Maintain regular communication with parents to provide updates on their child’s progress and development.
- Deliver attentive care to ensure the safety, well-being, and individual needs of all children.
- Foster an inclusive environment that embraces and supports the diverse needs of each student.
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor developmental progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum implementation and share best practices for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED or CDA is required.
- Experience in lesson planning and behavior management within an early childhood setting.
- Proficient in Virginia State childcare licensing standards and regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Understanding of child welfare practices and early childhood development milestones.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in early childhood education.
