Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychologist to join our team. In accordance with training & scope of practice, administers & interprets psychometric tests as requested as part of treatment needs for specific diagnoses, treatment & psychological individual & group interventions; administers, scores & interprets individual psychological tests or test batteries for purposes of crisis intervention, neurophysiology's issues, risk assessment, severe behavioral management cases, treatment, & programming; participates in hearings as assigned & assessments for potential suicide.
Duties
- As a member of the interdisciplinary team, responsible for development & implementation of mental health interventions (e.g., psychological, social & substance abuse) for a caseload of offenders/patients with mental illness; conducts individual & group clinical interventions as prescribed on the offenders individual mental health treatment plan using clinical intervention strategies within their scope of practice.
- Provides mental health liaison services to an assigned caseload, including the monitoring of the offender compliance with the mental health treatment plan; completes detailed screens, mental health evaluations & crisis services within their scope of practice; serves as treatment team coordinator; provides only clinical supervision to psychology assistants in accordance with the State Board of Psychology rules within the level of training & competency of these psychology assistants.
- Writes reports &/or documents to include documentation of all offender contacts, mental health liaison progress note entries, discharge plans & miscellaneous forms & reports as needed.
- Completes psychosocial needs & treatment assessments as part of interdisciplinary treatment planning; completes transfer & discharge summaries & pre-parole clinical risk assessments & treatment summaries; consults with other institution staff regarding the mental health caseload inmates institutional adjustment & service needs. Participates in peer review as assigned.
- Attends meetings of psychology clinical case consultation; attends & instructs in-service training sessions & workshops for professional development; conducts expert-witness assessments as needed; attends meetings; must conduct themselves professionally, & in a law-abiding manner, at all times
Job Type: Contract
Pay: Up to $85.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
