Job Description
A warm and busy family seeking a kind, reliable, and proactive part-time evening nanny to help care for their 3 yr. and 5 yr. old the evening rush. With two working parents and little ones who are sweet but understandably hungry, tired, and full of energy after daycare, parents are hoping to find someone who can provide calm, consistent support and help them end their days with a little more peace while keeping them on their evening and bedtime schedules.
Schedule
- 3 weeknights per week, ideally 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM or 5pm-9pm
- Specific days can be flexible and mutually agreed upon weekly Occasional variations and extended hours) if one or both parents are working late or need rest weekdays and weekends Location
- Home in DC, Hourly Rate
- $30/hour Key Responsibilities Evening Care
- Help with meal prep before they reach and feeding them dinner when they arrive
- Supervise and engage the children during mealtime and evening routine
- Bath time assistance, as needed
- Playtime, reading, and helping wind down for bedtime by 8:30 PM (our toddler may still be awake near the end of shift) Light Housekeeping (as related to the children)
- Dishes and cleanup after meals
- Tidy and maintain safety in child-related areas (bedrooms, bathrooms, playrooms, walkways/stairs)
- Laundry (children’s clothing and linens)
- Experience with toddlers and multiples
- Calm, reliable, and proactive presence
- Comfortable juggling dinner, play, bath, and bedtime routines
- Willingness to help us stay ahead on light chores that keep our evenings running smoothly.

Requirements
- Previous experience in babysitting or nannying is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of toddler care practices and child development principles.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Patience, reliability, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Must be able to pass background checks related to childcare.
