Production Worker — Fabrication Shop
The Production Worker is responsible for supporting the daily operations in the fabrication shop by handling materials, operating equipment, and ensuring orders are processed accurately and efficiently. Key duties include:
- Pulling, transferring, and packaging coils and sheets according to order specifications
- Operating forklifts to load/unload will-call customers, LTL vans, and flatbed trucks (including palleted coils, sheets, and customer equipment)
- Running fabrication equipment such as cut-to-length lines, core cutters, and slitters as needed
- Performing accurate inventory counts and reporting on sheet, coil, and accessory stock
- Identifying and reporting defective or substandard materials and products
- Keeping the facility, work areas, equipment, and tools clean and organized
- Maintaining inventory by labeling, stocking, and recording material locations
- Representing the company in a professional manner during interactions with customers, freight personnel, and coworkers
- Assisting with inventory cycle counts and other inventory control tasks
Education
High school diploma or GED preferred; trade school or military experience a plus
Experience & Skills
- Experience in rigging and lifting preferred
- Must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds
- Requires solid written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Strong analytical, conceptual and planning skills are required
- Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
- Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
