In order to continue the growth of our group, Katoen Natie Specialty Chemicals Inc. (USA) is looking for a Project Coordinator in La Porte, TX.
Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator will assist in planning, coordinating, and monitoring regional projects to ensure they remain on schedule and meet quality standards. This role requires excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage project documentation, schedules, and communication with cross-functional teams.
- - Assist the Project Manager in developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Track project progress and prepare regular status reports.
- Support the team in managing project milestones and ensuring tasks are completed on time.
- Assist in the development and implementation of operational procedures and policies.
- Identify and implement process improvements with management oversight.
- Support onboarding of new customers/services, including training the local organization.
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation.
- Update project files and records regularly.
- Ensure accessibility and accuracy of all project-related documents.
- Act as a liaison for cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication and coordination.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and follow up on action items.
- Communicate project updates and changes to team members and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely acquisition of materials/resources.
- Monitor inventory levels and track delivery timelines.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
- Support risk assessments and implement safety measures.
- Assist with sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years in a project coordination or administrative role, preferably in a project-focused environment.
- Strong customer service skills and knowledge of logistics workflows
- Strong communication and social skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint; experience with other data analysis tools is a plus.
- Willing to travel ad hoc and flexibility to travel throughout the region as needed
- Bilingual (English/Spanish/French) is a plus but not required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, effective communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively and capable of working multiple projects simultaneously
Requirements
- Must be currently able to work legally in the United States
- Able to be mobile in the work environment and provide own method of transportation.
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
- Ability to perform all basic math calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment at various temperatures, that includes dust and other debris to receive and store materials, with equipment and, machinery to complete various tasks.
- Ability to perform physical activities that require lifting, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Ability to lift and carry up to 55 lbs. to receive, store, and ship materials, supplies and/or equipment. Ability to stand, and perform work duties for an extended period.
- Ability to handle up to 85 decibels of noise while working in the Warehouses due to heavy machinery and rolling equipment, all according to OSHA permissible exposure limit
- Close vision (clear vision at 20” or less), Color vision (Identify and distinguish colors), and Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area while eyes are fixed on a given point.)
- Work other than normal scheduled hours, which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays according to the needs of the business.
