Base Salary: $21.00 - $31.50 / hour
JOB SUMMARY
Assist Purchasing Manager with sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors as well as all duties related to procurement of supplies and equipment.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews purchase requisitions for completeness and budget endorsement, contacts requestor for more information if necessary.
- Submits purchase orders.
- Fulfills requisitions from Central Supply.
- Assists in maintaining stock based on par levels established by the clinical and medical directors.
- Assists in monitoring and documenting vendor performance and seeks alternative sources as necessary.
- Tracks all back orders.
- Contacts vendors about any incorrect shipments, discrepancies and/or replacement needs.
- Updates purchasing database.
- Assists Office Depot account as Super User. Manages accounts as necessary.
- Work with a procurement system vendor to ensure the system is performing as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of purchasing and accounting principles, inventory systems, policies, and procedures, preferably in a not-for-profit environment.
- General knowledge of medical and dental supplies and equipment.
- Experience with PC based accounting, word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Good communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Professional attitude promotes good relations with vendors, management, clinicians, and staff.
- Typing 35 WPM or greater.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma
- Current driver’s license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of two years of experience in purchasing, preferably in a medical clinic or related health care setting.
